Disappearing Elora

Village of Elora (est. 1832). Across the river from Elora Mill Inn are the remnants of three historic buildings - these are hopefully being preserved to be part of future hotel and condo development.

  • Riverside stone factory walls of the Walser Building (Furniture) on the banks of the Grand River.

-the Little Folks Furniture Factory producing obviously Children furniture in historic Elora.

  • Kiddie Kar factory, in 1979 movie "An American Christmas Carol" starring Henry Winkler, the building was used as the furniture factory in the movie. (built in 1859 as the "Potter Foundry", taken over in 1916 by the Kiddie Kar), it is now another ruin across the river from the Mill.

All of these are closed at least 15 years or more.
