This house was moved to this location before Katrina. It was originally officers quarters at nearby Fort Gaines. It is now being restored, Katrina did not damage it.

It's a beautiful house and glad it's going to be restored.

Wow, thanks for posting a picture of our home! We moved this house in 2003 and have been restoring it ever since. It has been a labor of Love. I would love to send an updated photo. We are very proud of this home. It has survived every hurricane since it was built in 1903.

Wow, thats great, Im glad to have the homeowner reply!! I took this picture in late December 2005. I had got a simple point and shoot that had some software, that let me change the shot to black and white, sharpen and change contrast. I was working in the hurricane recovery and had a day off to drive around and take pictures of damage. My email is jcsmith440@yahoo.com and I have more pictures of the place`s I worked on or around @ www.myspace/jcsmith440 . I would love to have a updated picture. And with your blessing Id post it on this site and myspace. with you having full credit for the picture of course. I would like to know more history on the home aswell. Thanks for your time. James Christopher Smith.

A beautiful home, I'm glad to see that it was spared, I visited Dauphin Island back in 68, and have some fond memories of my time there. Best to you, Tom
