You in the plane?
Thank you for visiting my gallery.
For this shot, I was lying on my stomach in the KC-135 next to the boom operator as the B-1 approached for refueling. I was just along for the ride.
We refueled this B-1 and two F-16s as they flew from Mountain Home AFB, Idaho to Patrick AFB, Florida.
Best wishes, Leo
Wow! Remind me not to get you angry, looks like you have friends in high places. Guy.
It ain't what you know...
So, you were in a fying crew as a boom operator! Great experience and good souvenirs I suppose. Bernard.
My friend, Ted, was the boom operator. I was just along for the ride and to take pictures. They let me sit in the jump seat for takeoff and landing. That was a thrill, too.
They dropped me off in Patrick AFB, Florida.
My nephew picked me up in his airplane and took me the rest of the way to Plant City.
I can't see the picture on Facebook... Did you make many flights? (I like planes). Anyway it is a very good scanned picture. Amitiés. Bernard
I will try to send the link to Michael's airplane again. If you can not see it I will tell you it is a Piper Archer, single engine, four seater. He sold it about a year go and bought a boat.
He took me up at least one time every time I went to Florida (once or twice a year). The best was a night flight from Patrick AFB (near Cocoa Beach) to Plant City (about 150 kilometers). It was so quiet and peaceful and the lights were beautiful! My sister, his mother was with us for this flight.
It would be a dream for me to make such a photo. Regards Frank
It was a dream for me too, Frank. I love airplanes, especially the F-16. Although the SR71 is my all-time favorite! I would love to have taken photos of it.
wow! fantastic shot of this B1B! This is really a rare shot!!! Well done!
Thank you, Ilmari, for your visit and kind words. I was very lucky to get a ride on this tanker to get this shot and the F-16 refueling. My friend, Ted, was the boom operator.
FYI - a nickname of the B1B as the Bone (B one)
=) very interesting! Thanx for the link)
