This airworthy Flying Fortress built in 1945 is the only remaining Fortress flying in Europe. It was used in the film Memphis Belle and the Memphis Belle livery remains on one side of the aircraft. This aircraft is a flying memorial to the tens of thousands of American airmen who lost their lives in her sister aircraft during the Second World War. My old man, Cpl Leroy Lokey, was based at the USAF base at Thurleigh, Beds, and was on the ground crew loading the bombs on these aircraft. We owe these airmen so much......
