We bought a piece of land here once; it was under development. When I slogged down the hill to my piece of it (the car couldn't make it through the deep mud), I found this stream. It was only 6 to 10 inches wide, and a tight fit to frame it, but the result was the first photo I enlarged, framed and hung.
Sold the property though, and bought a house.

I've enjoyed this bit of your PA history, Hank. Marilyn

Thanks for indulging me, Marilyn. It's hard when you go back over scans of pictures you shot almost 40 years ago, not to attach a story that was the underlying reason for the photo. These were the days when every shot was precious and we didn't waste film...or at least I didn't.
Cheers,
Hank

I think lots of us were very careful, Hank. I'm frequently surprised when I look over old slides (which I obviously didn't cull because I find some very bad shots). Is that all I have of this?
Cheers, Marilyn

Exactly. Almost everything I do photographically today is better recorded than before 2000 when I got my first digital camera.
My Best,
Hank

Great shot from many moons ago Hank. I feel the same way you do about where we've gone with photography. You can take ten or a hundred shots to get that one great shot now. With instant feedback to play with settings. composition, focus, white balance, etc, etc. It's a real testament about the kind of artist and photographer you are that you did get this great image without those tools. :)
Regards, Tom

Thanks Tom. As I go through my old shots there are fewer scenery images than I would have liked. Those precious frames were saved so we could share our growing family with relatives back east. As always, I appreciate your input and perspective which goes beyond the image itself.
