This neo-Gothic and Romantic building was built in the spirit of the English Gothic style in 1857 in accord with the fashion of the times. Its name was derived from its original dark grey colour. Today, it houses the collections and exhibitions of the history department of the Ferenc Móra Museum.
A Fekete Házat Mayer Ferdinánd kereskedő építette 1857-ben az angol gótika szellemében és romantikus stílusban, Gerster Károly tervei alapján. Nevét korábbi, erősen sötétszürke színéről kapta. 1985-től a Móra Ferenc Múzeum iparművészeti és irodalomtörténeti gyűjteményének kiállítóhelye.
