The size of it always astounds me.

This ship was the first of it's type in the world.

It can raise itself between 10 and 46 metres above the sea bed, it can carry up to 10 wind turbines at any one time.

Cheers. Roy.

The other 2 ships MPI Adventure and MPI Discovery, which also come into the River Wear are larger than this one.

Hi Oleg.

Being an ex navy man yourself, you'll appreciate the capabilities of such a vessel.

Regards. Roy.

Hello Bob.

We had a good run of cable laying and turbine vessels visiting the River. At the moment things are very quiet.

Perhaps they will be around again sometime in the future.

Cheers. Roy.
