Great catch, Ryan! It must have been very cold with so much ice on the Mississippi! Greetings, Anne

Thanks Anne! You have no idea how cold it was! I climbed over the guardrail and onto the gravel riverbank to try to get a better look at some eagles, and the wind chill that near to the river must have been 20 degrees colder than it was closer to the bluffs.
Of course, the cold here was nothing compared to what it was up north in Minnesota, where the whole river was frozen over. The chunks of ice here were just the small pieces that had broken off and floated downriver.
Greetings, Ryan

And I thought it was cold here when it was 7 degrees centigrade! I really don't know whether I could bear temperatures like that or like those up in Minnesota, Ryan! Cheers, Anne

I think the high this day was less than 20, at the best. With the wind near the river, it definitely felt colder than zero. (That's -6C and -17C.) This was one of those times when the jet stream dipped south, and we got our weather straight from Canada. I'm happy it's over now! Cheers, Ryan
