These concrete pillars used to support "The Boathouse" where I lived with my grandparents Doris and Bill Dolphin who ran the little shop selling fihing tackle and served fantastic bacon sarnies and jugs of hot tea. Bill was the Earlswood Lakes water Baliff, many fishermen who fished there in the 1960s will recall him selling them their licences. and possibily me too( the lanky youth who bailed out the leaky punts and sold maggots etc around the lakes)... very happy times
