Greetings A. Trigo, Thanks for visiting and commenting. The area around Trinity is so flat and expansive. You can drive for miles and not seem to get anywhere. I guess it was a perfect place to explode the bomb. The monument is the only remarkable thing in this huge flat desert.

Greetings Nirvana, Thank you for the visit. It is such a contrast to see where the first nuclear weapon was detonated. It was very small by anybody's standards and proved that the bomb would work. The desert floor where the detonation took place is very unremarkable today. Seeing the location in Hiroshima, Japan, where the first nuclear weapon was used against an enemy in a war is completely different experience. No longer is the bomb a science experiment. It is a weapon that causes indiscriminate destruction and death to everything within it reach. It was very sobering and sad to journey from the start to the end. I can't say who was right and who was wrong. But I think it will be a mistake for anyone to ever use one of these things again. There must be other ways to settle our differences. Thanks for listening. Cheers, Rich
