Holocaust Memorial: The Tyranny of Resentment < The Hope of Redemption

Wikipedia's article on the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe outlines the history of the project and the disputes that arose during its construction. It was designed by architect Peter Eisenman and the artist Richard Serra in collaboration.

At its opening, "Holocaust survivor Sabina Wolanski was chosen to speak on behalf of the six million dead. In her speech she noted that although the Holocaust had taken everything she valued, it had also taught her that hatred and discrimination are doomed to fail."
