Horsethief Lake, Home of She Who Watches
This area was once home to 100's of petraglyphs. All now 60 feet below the waterline. A culture of life by those who lived here 1000's of years before any one of us. Celilo Falls is also here. Upstream I believe. Long since lost to the Dalles Dam. When the dam was finished it took only 6 hours for the rising waters to drown the falls. To silence its roar. To kill a way of life that fed a culture long before Lewis and Clark ever came through.
What wonderful pictures they are fantastic. Thanks
The petraglyphs that were finally replaced by the Army Corp of Enginers from The Dalles Dam are beautiful!.
Check them out if you can..
