This area was once home to 100's of petraglyphs. All now 60 feet below the waterline. A culture of life by those who lived here 1000's of years before any one of us. Celilo Falls is also here. Upstream I believe. Long since lost to the Dalles Dam. When the dam was finished it took only 6 hours for the rising waters to drown the falls. To silence its roar. To kill a way of life that fed a culture long before Lewis and Clark ever came through.

The petraglyphs that were finally replaced by the Army Corp of Enginers from The Dalles Dam are beautiful!.
