Nice view. Inland from West Cliff Drive is Lighthouse Field, a park saved in the 1970s by the residents of Santa Cruz from becoming a mass of condos. Instead they got a nice park where Monarch butterflies form colonies in the winter, and they built a bike/hike path along the cliffs with stairs leading down to the pocket beaches, as they're called. Santa Cruz isn't overly endowed with parks, so this site gets tons of use. its a great place to watch for the green flash at sundown.
