Nice shots Carmel, I was there for the first time in 1981, the "tempanos" (little icebergs)even was a reality, and the rear of the lagoon -and all the area surrounding- was a glacier circle of a high mountain glacier, in the summer the témpanos sailing free all the lake, but them during de ´90 the climatic change destroy all of these natural spectacle (and many others like de Castaña Overa glacier in Tronador Mount and the highest glacier in the Domuyo Volcano). In one of my latest visit at the Jakob shelter in the early 2000, the tempanos was a memories. Regards (and sorry for my english)

Hey Fernando, thanks for your comment! It's great that you got to see why it was named Laguna de los tempanos. Shame that I didn't :)
