The Shackleton was a British maritime long-range patrol aircraft for use by the RAF & South African Air Force. It was developed by Avro from the Lincoln bomber with a new fuselage and originally used primarily in Anti-Submarine Warfare and later adapted for airborne early warning and search and rescue. These two in private ownership have long been abandoned at the western end of Paphos Airport. And did I take the bus and have a leisurely stroll round the airport to take these photos? No I bloody well didn't I decided in my lunacy to walk the coastal route and the walk bloody well made me ill! And this the day after my encounter with the scary dog at Paphiakos and I can tell you my wife was not impressed!!!

Holy smoke .....Geoff...you are a real stalwart and a general good egg...with a doggedly determination to succeed...all in the name of an interest....I'm proud of you..!...Dave..;-)

But this really was a step too far. Carol was panicking as she thought I was gonna keel over and she had no idea how to get any help on the back tracks near the airport. Have a look on GE and you'll see where we were! And I still haven't got the missing Lightning at RAF Akrotiri but next May................!!!
