YS & LIKE
Thank you for visiting J.C. Those 4000 year old pine trees are called Bristlecone Pines, and are found about 250 miles south, and slightly east, of this location. I believe this tree is a Sierra Juniper, and the oldest known one is only 3000 years old.
Wonderful composition, like! Best wishes!

Is this a bristle cone pine? Oh - Placer Co. - I guess not. Gorgeous shot, LIKE!
Thank you Diane! I think it is an old Sierra Juniper.
I love this photo, Ken, but even better is your perceptual description and humorous title for this ancient anomaly.
Too Much Fun! Carlee
Thank you Carlee*. The other title is "Tree Cannibal", which fits with the location on Donner Pass, named for the infamous group that was stranded over a long winter not far from here in the mid 19th century.
Вік цього дерева мабуть тисяча років! Чудова світлина! L+F
