Bojdeuca lui Creanga

The parental home of the writer Ion Creanga, located in Humulesti, Neamt County, is a construction of wooden beams and shingle roof, built in 1830. In 1944 the house is donated by Sofia Grigoriu to the Teachers Association in Romania. The building was restored in 1937 by Nicolae Iorga. Further restorations were made in 1960, 1975, 1988. Creanga family descendents lived in this house until 1959 when it became a museum opened to the public. Tourist can also admire the sculpture of Ion Creanga's bust.
