The man is just a shadow of himself. George Boileau- 1989. (Actual title: 'Lineal Order')

'Lineal Order', bronze by George Boileau- 1989. A life-size man guarding the entrance to condo building. Not much expression on this Shoeless Joe! He may be a weirdo (Flasher) - as he seems naked under the coat. The is also small statue of a boy opposite to him. He is dressed in similar fashion.

What does it all mean....?

My interpretation is, that the are poor people (young and old) in the city and placing this sculpture at the entrance of very expensive condo was a very brave decision or guilty conscience.

When I photographed the boy (few weeks after the man statue, as I was not happy with the boy photos), the security came out to check what I was doing. If I were barefoot and naked under my coat, I am sure the police would be called right away!!
