Great pictures Hans!
Are you a pro ?
I'm still looking for a new 'picture of the week' for my website.
Do you have a favorite which you want to place?
I'm a semi-pro: i'm actually a travel writer but occasionally I also do some photography myself...
It's very hard for me to pick one single picture bacause they all have their own story. I've posted some of them because they're nice (this one for example), others because of the story. It'd prefer if you told me which one you like.
Ok, i think i stick with this one.
Can you make a short story with the picture?
Great job you have, that explains the many locations you visited.
Any tips on Tuscany?
Here it is:
For a photographer Thailand is heaven on earth. Except for some hill tribes in Northern Thailand, Thai people don't mind having their picture taken. In fact, if they notice your pointing your lens in their direction they'll give you their brightest smile. I could this old lady unaware at the foating market in Damnoen Saduak, Southern Thailand. The market is a must for everyone visting Thailand, despite being very tourist-orientated. Damnoenssaduak is actually the name of the canal that was dug during the reign of King Rama IV (1851-1868). Peasants still use the canal to transport their goods in small rowing boats to the market. Make sure to visit the Old Floating Market as well, which is were I took this picture. That's where the local people gather to buy oranges, grapes, papayas, cabbages, beans, onions and other crops that are grown by the peasants in fertile Southern Thailand. From the Old Floating Market you can go by boat to the new one and get right in the middle of the market instead of mingling in the crowd gathered on the passage along the canal in order to make pictures. It will take you about two hours to get there from Bangkok (by bus or by boat), so make sure to leave early because usually the peasants are sold out before 11 AM.
And I've been to Tuscany but that was before I went digital. I've got a new trip planned before the end of the year.
do you have a website?
Just this one. It started out as a true business card with only my best pictures but then I decided to help Panoramio grow and started posting a larger number of picture per destination.
