This was filmed as part of the 'Polar Special' episode, where two of the presenters, James May and Jeremy Clarkson, were in a race with the third presenter, Richard Hammond, who was accompanied by Matty McNair, to the 1996 Magnetic North Pole near Isachsen, Nunavut, Canada. Bloody good episode if you can watch it.
