A lot of places are under snow from the end of december to the end of march, and in the 3000 meters high mountains, until the end of may. Skiing and winter climbing are very popular sports here. This photo was taken in the Yatsugatake volcano in mid-february. Minus 20 degres. Much warmer than in some places of your country.
