Samos is an island of North Eastern Aegean sea, famous of its red wine. Origin land of Pythagoras, Epikouros, Aristarchos. Capital of the island is the homonymous city, and all the island has about 33.000 residents.


Tourist attractions : The Heraeon, temple of Hera, near the homonymous village, the Archeological Museum of Samos with a Kouros of 7.00 metres high, the tunnel of Efpalinos and Cleopatra's bath, near Pythagoreion, the Paleontological Museum of Mitilinioi, the cave of Pythagoras, the Monastery of Megali Panagia, the waterfalls near Karlovassi and the traditionnal villages of Vourliotes and Ano Vathy.


Beaches : All the island has beautiful beaches, such as Potokaki, Psili Ammos, Kerveli, Mourtos, Pefkos, Marathokampos at the south-east and Lemonakia, Tsamadou, Tsabou, Kokkari and Potami at the north.


The island is very close to Turkey, and a day excursion to Efessos (Efes) is a must. There are yacht marinas in Pythagoreion and the town of Samos and hotels at any availiable price are in any point of the island. The roads are very good, except some mountain roads, but from them you can enjoy the most beautiful mountain views to the Aegean Sea and the Archipel of Icarus.
