Thanks! In regards to the Salisbury Center Covered Bridge, yes, it is a recent photo which was taken in 2006. The bridge is currently under renovation and had a new roof placed on it as well as some new deck boards. That is why you see the entrance closed off to traffic in this image. The Blue Ridge, eh? I'm assuming you either live in Virgina or North Carolina then. I moved to central North Carolina in 1995. I'm originally from the Finger Lakes Region of New York State. As for Shenandoah National Park, I've only been there once and didn't have much time to visit too many locales not to mention much of the area was foggy that day. A friend of mine wants me to hike to Old Rag with him sometime. Hopefully, I'll have some more free time down the road. You may have also noticed a photo of Luray Caverns in my set as well. Virginia is full of great adventure. :-)
Foxx Trotter, Good morning and greetings from a North Carolinian who's taking holiday in New York. I was hoping that you could give me some advice related to this bridge. Looking at the aerial imagery, there appears to be a pull-off on both ends of the bridge. Is that the case? I was hoping to walk down the creek bank a little south of the bridge to get a photo with the creek/falls. Do you remember if that would be possible?
I believe you can pull over by the bridge if I remember correctly, but I'm not sure as to where you can get down to the creek easiest. I've only been to the bridge once and that was five years ago. The bridge was closed when I went as they were finishing with renovations.
