I'm sure it was, Kasia. I hope to go there next year and explore the region a bit more. Cheers, Christophe.

Christophe, I was on an American day trip which meant we had little time to stop and enjoy. If you are travelling on your own with a hire car, plan plenty of time and allow for the fact that the air is thin at 2500m. Kasia

Hi, Kasia. Thanks for the advice; we have some experience with altitudes from our trips to Peru (4600m) and China (4800m). We will certainly take our time in the US and we are planning a three and a half week trip in California, Northern Arizona and Southern Utah and Nevada. Pitty you only had one day but the experience must have been amazing judging your picture. The USA trip will be something for next year though as coming Monday we are leaving for a two and a half week trip to La Reunion and Mauritius. After that we will have some saving to do ;-)

Christophe, >4600m wow, that must have been quite something! The days experience at the Canyon was special, as I had the chance to fly there in a small plane. The photos did not all turn out great but the experience was unique and I have the images stored in my brain. I look forward to your shots from La Reunion and Mauritius!! Kasia

It sure was, Kasia. Even getting on the bus was "breathtaking" becuase of the altitude. Christophe

Greetings Kasia, Very nice scene from the rim. If you ever get back be sure and stop at the El Tovar and go out on the deck of the lounge. There you can relax with a refreshment and overlook the canyon.

Cheers,

Rich

Rich, the chances that I'll be back there in this life are not that high. But I'll try to remember your tip if I am. I was in Phoenix on business - I couldn't go on the arranged bus trip to the Canyon and discovered by chance there was flight tour available. I definitely had the better deal! Incredible views and memories. Kasia
