Town hall

The town hall was seriously damaged in WW2, and then rebuilt between 1947-1954. The rest of the buildings was destroyed by the Soviets, and rebuilt after the war to resemble the old ones, preserving the street layout, etc. Also, this is how Poland is overreacting after the grey years of communism: see the colour of the buildings on the left; and one of hundreds of John Paul II statues on the right.
