Brooks Falls August Panorama

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

Brooks Falls lends itself very well to the making of a horizontal pan. The Magnetawan is wide enough at this point to produce an aesthetically pleasing wall of water, falling across the rocks at roughly the same height. There is a pool below the falls which is supported by a ridge of rock just under the surface. and though I spent only five minutes sitting in its waters, it brought the life back to me after a sweaty summer photo session. If you do this, though, be extremely cautious. I noticed the swirling of an undertow just in front of the falls, and I can imagine that a few lives have nearly been lost in this location over the years. indyj@rogers.com

Beauty panorama Indi, I paddled the Magnetawan in Algonquin Park in the 70's with fond memories. Lots of portages. :-) Cheers, Derek
