Hello,

The next time I'll cross Etreux I can do more photos of the cemetery and your great uncle's grave (If you wish).

I have worked 3 years in Picardie, and this time gave me the wish to understand better wich soldiers falled in the different places.

My Great Grandfather PTE Patrick Lyddy is buried in this war cemetery in north eastern France. Another of the Royal Munster Fusiliers whom were killed in action on 27th August 1914. Patrick was aged just 26 years and left behind two very young daughters in Limerick city.

I pay tribute to present day French filmmaker Christian Carion for his finest and most beautiful movie "Joy Nöel" (Merry Christmas) which shows just how IINSANE WW1 was and why it should never have been allowed to happen. The blame is fully on the war mongers of the European Rich Elitists who planned WW1 well before the first insane shots were fired in 1914. How many Europeans were slaughtered just like my great grandad leaving his children fatherless... Europeans Slaughtering Europeans For What Reason?? Wars are not by chance - Wars are planned well in advance.

Thanks for your comments! History shows us how easily a war can be engaged. Soldiers'life has few value. I haven't find my french great-grandfathers or -granduncles yet (family was many times recomposed) but I have a german great-granduncle who was in Sommepy (Champagne, 40 kms east from Reims) in 1917. Probably he feel the stupidity of such a war. But it wasn't enough! A WWII was necessary for Europe grows. "Joyeux Noël" is diffused on french channel TF1 monday 7th december 20h50. Another family of a R. M. F. has send me a message: It was O. Buckley and his/her (?)greatuncle was killed on 27 august too. If you want to contact me easily you can do it on christophepierre@yahoo.fr
