For more than 1300 years, Christian worship has been held here, though this is the fourth building on the site. It was destroyed in the 10th century by the king of England, and by William the Conqueror in 1069.

Nice shot. Your educational information makes the castle/church more attractive. I just ride on a time machine to return to the past.

Thank you

Cheers, Jeff

Thanks Jeff. I try to write comments under my photos whenever I have the time, for there are others who want to know the circumstances of my photograph, or about the subject. This is especially so because we come from all over the world. And that is enriching. Glad you appreciate my nots.

Thanks for making a visit to my folio, Paul. And thanks for the affirmation of my notes and conversations. I have read quite a lot of your conversations with others, so as you know, we all learn much about each other's world through Panoramio.

Kind regards,

Ian

Thanks Arthur. As I am not an English local, I thought I would check out the other images on GE for this cathedral, and they made this one look good. So I appreciate your affirmation and visit, as well as the encouragement that Panoramio has been for all of us who share with and inspire each other.

Kind regards,

Ian
