Hello again, Kyle!

Yes indeed ....... Waaaaaaaaaay back there! So far back. =)

I love cool old things like this! 'So glad that you appreciate them as well! Sometimes I just about run off the highway when I spot something like this up in someone's yard. I have to turn around and go back. What a great old pump this is! Wouldn't you just love to have one in your front yard? =)

Thanks for agreeing about the black & white. I was trying to add to the mood a bit. I'm so happy that you like it.

Your visit has cheered up my night.

Thank you so much for stopping over, and for your nice praise.

It's always a pleasure having you here.

Wishing you a splendid Tuesday evening as well, my friend!

Run off the highway! Sorry, Mary Alice, I couldn't help but laugh when you said that! I have done the same thing also. Like just on the 27th of September when I was headed for Statesboro, I was in Millen and crossed over some railroad tracks. I glanced over and thought I saw a train coming, the sun was pouring in through the trees just perfectly and the lighting was perfect. There was no way I was going to miss that shot! So I get the car turned around and stop on the bridge to get a shot. Turns out there wasn't really a train coming but just some train cars sitting down there, but I take a shot anyways. Also, the sun was coming a little bit too harsh..but oh well, it still turned out kinda cool ;)

Yes, it would be cool to have something like this in my yard! It would be cool!

I'm glad I could cheer your night up! You cheered mine up as well last night when I saw your reply just before the server died!

It's a pleasure to be here. I hope you have a rockin' Wednesday!

Best regards from Hephzibah,

-Kyle

I DID have a rockin' great Wednesday, Kyle, and thank you so much for your kind wishes.

I enjoyed reading your story about the train, or not really, but what you thought was a train! We sound so very much alike. Too funny. It is rather sad when you've gone to a great effort to get just the perfect shot, and then when you get home, it turns out to be rather disappointing. It gives you a reason to return to the same place and do it all over again though, which is always a most inviting challenge for me anyway! =)

Once again, thank you for enjoying this cool old pump.

It's such a pleasure having you visit. =)

Hope you're having a wonderful evening thus far,

Mary Alice

MaryAlice, my dear friend, I remember as a kid in Finland, the country store near my home ahd one of these hand pumps. You could buy about 5 liters at the time and it was fascinating to watch the storekeeper fill iy 10 times to gas up a car. I was maybe 4-5 years old and mostly like Dennis the Menace. The m little country hole I was born in, is still there , unspoiled and very very rural and I have so many sweet memories growing up with farms and cows and pigs... getting a bit nostalgic here;)) Thank yu so much for waking up all memories from my childhood. Warm greetings, dear friend/Harri

Greetings, Harri!

Ahhh, thank you so much for sharing these wonderful childhood memories with me, dear friend. What fun to imagine you as a curious little boy in Finland, getting into everything in sight. I'm so glad your were inspired by this old pump to remember such entertaining stories.

You never fail to make me smile.

Wishing you a wonderful evening,

Mary Alice
