The ex Royal Naval Hospital at Stonehouse had been let to slowly run down towards the end of its life.

The gardens that would have seen doctors, nurses and convalescing patients, now is home to a solitary, rotting bench, slats all cracked and broken. An ornamental tree, once disciplined in its pruning, is now unkempt and the only company for the bench, as they grow old gracefully together.

although your picture is indeed lovely,I'm afraid your narrative is not entirely true... there are several residential properties and businesses active in the Millfields and though some of the buildings are indeed empty and in need of some TLC, the majority of the grounds and buildings are well kept. It's not nice to be misleading
