Wasaga Beach, Ontario. 14 km of sand, but no palm trees.

Wasaga Beach is a popular summer and weekend destination for Torontonians. Long stretch of sandy beaches on Nottawasaga Bay, and shallow waters create a perfect spot for family outing. For me it gets too crowded, but in September the water is still relatively warm and beaches are deserted.

Longest freshwater beach in the world, Wasaga Beach stretches more than 14 kilometers (8.7 miles) and is a part of Lake Huron.

Even in the height of the season you will find a place for your beach towel, but not much shade.
