No, alicia, this was part of an exposition hall (called "Palace of equilibration") and showed in a wodden sphere the delicate and sensitive balance between economy, society and environment. --> Here you see how it looked inside.

It was part of the Swiss national exposition [every 20-25 years] who took place from May to October 2002 at four different places in Switzerland. Afterwards all the installations were took down, except some small ones.

©polytropos, the fact that is was made of wood makes it even more amazing. It's a shame it was a temporary installation - an amazingly beautiful piece of architecture, especially after looking at your interior photo too. Only every 20-25 years? The next one not until 2022-2027? I wonder what the next expo will emphasize ;).. Best, -alicia

Well, some of the installations were bought by firms or rich people and rebuilt on another place. Some of them even abroad.
