Gracias Ferrer por echarle un vistazo a estas fotos Fue en verano de 2006 en Kathmandu. Esa mañana salieron miles de Maoistas en manifestacion por las calles. Durbar Square estaba ocupado por fuerzas del ejercito pues venía el rey Guanyendra en visita oficial. La zona estaba acordonada y solo estas personas y los viajeros y turistas extranjeros pudimos presenciar el acto. El ambiente era tenso pues tenia como marco la revolucion contra la monarquia como institucion retrogada y saqueadora de la que los Nepalies estan ahora orgullosos haber acorralado. El tema se ha tranquilizado pero aun esta en proceso de cambio saludos witxe;)

Creo haber leído hace poco que definitivamente se abolía la monarquía (corrígeme si me equivoco) y se elaboraba una nueva constitución.

Asi es Eric Pero desfortunadamente aqui nos llega solo informacion muy seleccionada y depurada por los grandes media con lo que cuesta mucho ponerse al dia y en definitiva enterarse de lo que pasa. Hay que echar mano de fuentes alternativas mientras los medias sigan copando el espacio para dictar que hemos de ver y como hemos de verlo. ;)witxe

Totalmente de acuerdo. Cuantas mas fuentes, más objetividad... La información encapsulada de los telediarios solo sirve de guia para saber lo que sucede y por desgracia los intereses priman para elegir lo que es noticia y lo que no... o sea que mejor informarse por cuenta ajena. Summer 2006, Kathmandu. That morning thousends of maoists were demonstraiting on the streets against the retrogressiv nepalese monarchy. Durbar Square was occupied by the army forces to protect King Guanyendra. Soldiers roped off the area of Durbar Square for the visit of the king. Only these people and some foreigners, we were able to witness the ceremony. The atmosphere was pretty strained within the framework of the popular opposition against monarchy, its abuses and impunity. Nepalese people are happy today to have put an end to all this story of plundering by an almighty bunch of bon viveurs.
