Psar Thmey @ Phnom Penh

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

966

A landmark of Phnom Pehn. Psar Thmey – by foreigners often called Central Market because of the location in the city - opened in 1937 and was renovated 2011. Actually Psar Thmey means New Market.

It has a shape of a dome and some claim it to be one of the largest domes in the world. The construction makes it relatively cool even on a hot day. At the center is sold gold, silver, gemstones and watches, and at the four wings are sold food, clothes, shoes, bags, books, souvenirs and many other things divided into areas selling only one thing.
