My family lived in Lusaka from November 1962 (the population then was 120,000, 10% of the present population)!
Lusaka Cathedral (as it was then known) had only just finished being built and was famed for its huge stained glass windows. The cathedral also featured on a postage stamp (one of a 3-piece set) that was released at Independence on 24th October 1964. The stamps were released for only 14 days, so are quite rare; fortunately I have the set.
