Thank You Mary Alice, I have located the position on Google Earth. This is a place not visited much by the general public, I discovered it by accident. About 500 yards north of this point is the Derwentwater Hotel, Portinscale where I stayed for one night. the next morning about 7:00 I walked down the path to see the lake and found this view at the end of it. A special place. Bob

Thank You Epi, You can stay there, at £70 a night. I arrived at 7:00pm and I was charged only £40! A nice place but I would soon run out of money. Bob

bobpercy, on April 29, said:

Jurgis, as you can see from my earlier replys if you have the cash you can be king. You would love to stay at the hotel and take a walk up the hill nearby - I think its called "Catbells" but if your not up to it I think the bar stays open until midnight. Bob

Jurgis Karnavicius, on April 29, said:

You know Bob I'm not so much interested in bars:)... in Lake District I was in 2006 participating in 5-days orienteering competition, we stayed in caravan camp near Kendal. Next such competition will take place in 2010 so I hope to be there again:)... Greetings, Jurgis

Sean, Thanks for the kind words. I have to admit taking photos in the lakes can be very rewarding beacause of the quality of the scenery. Bob

Madidi, on May 15, said:

Couldn't agree more Bob: spent some time here a few years ago and it was a magical place. The weather wasn't as kind then as it was for you, but all that water has to come from somewhere!! :-)

Best Regards,

Sean.
