Hallo Ian, another very beautifull picture.
Thanks Martin. This telephotoshot was taken on a day on which big swell was arriving at the coast, closing the beaches. The sea spray is making the image misty. By looking at the GE map beside the image you will see that between each pair of headlands is a bay-head beach. These beaches are in the Sydney metropolitan area and very popular with the locals, especially in summer. It is quite a stunning coastline here.
A very stunning coastline captured very nicely Ian. What a beautiful place to spend a holiday.
Thanks Tom. Sydney is a great place for a holiday, it's a pity I have to work and neglect the beaches - I am sure the beaches could do with my company more often.
Great shot Ian,Its funny how the seascape is distinctive NSW and different to Victoria,as it varies around this great continent of ours,Cheers Craig :)
Somethings we can be proud of, mate. Thanks for your comment.
Here the Hawkesbury sandstone from which the Blue Mountains are etched and which underlies all of Sydney has been uplifted in a very gentle anticline. The ridges end in cliffs with wave-cut platforms at their base, and the valleys run down to bays and their perfect beaches.
At Cape Schank, in your area the basalts reach the coast and make a very colourful and attractive land and seascape... and oh how I love Victoria's coast in all its diversity!
Wonderful Rocky Coast and a beautiful picture ! Greetings from Germany, Ørnér :-)
It is a bold coast of headlands, but it hides wonderful bayhead beaches between each pair of bluffs. It is a great playground for many Sydney residents.
Thank you for connecting, for your folio is new to me. I note you have many fine images of buildings and coastal landscapes, in Europe and HK and I look forward to seeing more of your work as soon as I can. I am about to leave for Indonesia for a couple of weeks, so I would like to add your album into my favourites, so that I can enjoy it and your new uploads into the future.
