This is the third oldest operating Cog-Wheel Railway in the world. The first vehicle started on 1874. Then the distance between the two stations was 2900m and the difference in the height 264m. here is the first; (the second and the first European cog-wheel train line of Vitznau-Rig opened in 1871)
