It was many years ago as one of the crew of landing craft Tank #933 that we landed at this place just after 8am on D day 6th of June. Our Lct was one of the first on the beach on the east side of Juno beach. We hit one of the mines close to the beach but were able to land and discharge the troops and equipment without any injuries.Heard later that men all made it safely off the beach and made their way inland. We manage to get back to Portsmouth with a hole in the port side all right.
