Milky Way, Berthoud Pass, Colorado, USA

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

It was a nice night for photographing the Milky Way. The outside air was really cold and the breeze was taking the warmth out of the feet and legs. Standing there made me think back 45 years to when I would ride the Continental Trailways bus to Steamboat Springs for skiing. I always enjoyed going over Berthoud Pass because the bus left Denver at 10:00 PM and it was very dark when we started up the pass. In the winter the snow makes the mountains visible from within the bus so it was very enjoyable to see the high places wrapped in white. Ah, the old days........
