Moraine Lake after the first snow of the season / Moraine Lake po pierwszym śniegu w sezonie

Moraine Lake is located in Banff National Park. It is glacially fed and gets full in June, when it reflects a distinct shade of blue. The color is due to the refraction of light off the rock flour deposited in the lake on a continual basis. On a cloudy day the colour is more of a dark blue rather than turquoise on a sunny day. Moraine Lake jest położone w Parku Narodowym w Banff. Jego wody są pochodzenia lodowcowego i jezioro osiąga najwyższy poziom w czerwcu. Wtedy też ma bardzo charakterystyczny niebieski kolor, który jest spowodowany załamaniem światła od "mączki skalnej". W pochmurny dzien kolor jest bardziej ciemno niebieski niż turkusowy w słoneczny dzień.
