Great photo Adam. That line was never electrified. Those power lines were always used by JCP&L.

When they built this line it looks like they had plans of heavy usage with electrified trains.. The Huge High Voltage Catenary towers sort of explain the theory... It is great that companies can co-use space, the utility companies benefit from RR right of ways just like on the NS Lehigh Line at the Parkway the huge High Tension Towers above the line..

There are also PSE&G Tower along the old Boonton Line ROW in Kearny

Ohh yah check my TAG for the Lower Boonton Line.. I guess the Erie-Lackawanna perhaps was going to electrify the line...
