Lake Tsivlou is located in the prefecture of Achaia and to Helmos mountain at an altitude of 800 meters. It is created on March 24, 1913 when a large landslide clogged the river bed Krathis. The lake has an area of 200 acres and a depth of 80 meters. Around and near the lake there are villages Peristera, Agia Varvara and Zarouchla. The name of the lake comes from the village Tsivlos which engulfed part after the landslide. Today Tsivlos is a very important wetland that is home to many species of flora and fauna. Also it is a popular leisure destination.
