Another awesome shot! You had really great timing on these, to get there and capture the dark stormclouds, while the valley is still in light.

Thanks Brandon. This shot and the one of Rockfish Valley were taken just this past Monday afternoon. My wife had been out on the road for work and called me to tell me about the dramatic sky and the interaction between clouds and mountains. I took off in the car as soon as I got the message. Glad you like this.

Amazing clouds and perfect light. I was going to compliment your incredible timing, but it looks like the credit goes to your wife for these. ;)

Thanks Ryan! This shot is taken looking west from another overlook off the BRP not far from where I took the shot of the Rockfish Valley. In all honesty this view can be pretty boring but in this case the sky transformed it! I thought that it was cool that as cloudy as it was, you can still see the Alleghenies on the other side of the valley some distance away. Thanks for the comment. Bruce

Thanks Rafal. I could not agree with you more. Even though the mountains here are beautiful, the sky tends to steal the show when it looks like this. I could look at it for hours! Thanks again and greetings from the States! Bruce

We were on our Way from New Market to Lexington while we saw this valley. Any suggestion where that place is?

Thanks Mike. The Shenandoah Valley is indeed a beautiful place. This was taken on a small hill just south of Rockfish Gap where Interstate 64 crosses the Blue Ridge.
