Entrance gate typical of the Neo-Gothic building (esp. the residential colleges all having interior courtyards/gardens). Enormous numbers of skilled stone-cutters/sculptors and experts in handmade wrought iron were brought over from various countries in Europe during the Depression to create the highest quality and most authentic detailing.

Dear vikingXV!
I had a feeling that the buldings have an Europian touch. I think they made it on the pattern of The University of Cambridge. I visited that one in England loooong time ago, and noticed the similarities.
Cheers, Barbara
