Yes, this is a real photo. Taken in May 2007 with a little bit of tone-mapping for effect. You will either like or hate this. Comments please!..Herb
Goed, commentaar: Do you use HDR? The houses have a strange colour. The water and the boats too. It's so light, i think the lighting is not good. Coclusion: Do you have an ariginal photo of this shot? Try again without these tricks please Hop you don't have hard feelings. But i would have deleted it and tried it again.
Hmmm - not the comments that I was really hoping for, but thanks for your views anyway Jan. The effect was created from a method called 'tone mapping' which is a pseudo HDR effect. I wanted to create a different feeling to the original picture which was OK but there where many similar ones posted on Google Earth. I showed a large print of this to some of my artistic colleagues and they all liked it very much. So, I have always been surprised that it has not aroused the interest of the masses out here in Panoramio land. It looks like your views on this Jan must be the prevalent ones. Maybe, I'll take your advice and scrap this for the original? keep watching and thanks again Jan. herb
Oh yes Herb i will! Go on with your shot's you upload nowadays.
All gallery is very good. Very seldom you can find so many beautifull pictures in one place like here. Greetings from Kraków! Oscar
Osca, welcome to my humble gallery. Your words Honour Me!. Thank you. It is also very nice that someone should visit this picture after so long. When I created this from my original photo, it was an experiment towards in HDR I was very excited that it turned out like this. Now, everyone has powerful programs to to the same and better.
Greetings from the UK, Herb
ps, please visit again!
Beautiful picture. Like.
One of my favourite places on the Med is around here, Eze and Banyuls and also just over the Spanish border too. The wine ain't half bad, either!
You have so many great photos to explore, I musn't have too much of a good thing.... but it has been a pleasure and I will return!
Hello Andy, and welcome to my gallery. Always great to see new visitors here, especially ones that leave so many great comments and awards. Yes Collioure was particularly interesting, indeed on our all too brief day-trip there, we were also entertained in the town square to local folk dancing and singing. This picture was in fact my very first public experiment with HDR. I liked the unreal effect here but now HDR has moved on.
Greetings from the Oldham, UK, Herb
