Bambarakanda Water fall is considered to be ranked 48th according to the list of tallest waterfalls ranked among the highest waterfalls in the world.

Fog, narrow roads, leaches and rainy weather makes it difficult to reach the bottom of the waterfall during the rainy season. Top is generally covered with clouds on rainy days. However, the full stream of water draining from the Horton Plains could only be seen during the rainy season.
