Another one with this special charme you give to those old things. Excellent composition with the light coming right through this old barn. Greetings, Peter

My Dearest Peter:

How ever did you see this one so fast? I JUST put it up! :)

Impressive!

I'm so happy that you like it! It seemed so happy and cheerful, not at all like the usual sad feel that some old barns put off when they just look ready to collapse. This one seemed a bit rejuvenated or somehow uplifted, and I'm thinking it had something to do with all the springtime joy surrounding it! :) Everything was so fresh, new and green! :)

It was an unusually HAPPY barn, so I left it and color to send forth that certain happiness!

I'm so glad that you stopped by, Peter! I hope you have a wonderful day today! It's FRIDAY! :)

Thank you again for your special words of praise.

I'm headed to bed now.

Greetings & goodnight,

Mary Alice

This is a wonderful capture, Mary Alice! And you're right, this old barn does not convey sadness like most abandoned buildings do. With all the fresh green leaves surrounding it, there's even a cheerful atmosphere! It's a great shot! Greetings, Anne

Isn't that so true! Your title is very befitting of your lovely photo, Mary Alice. When I look at this I can just smell the spring in the air and am soaking up that spring sunshine. Wonderful composition and contrasts - and a little bit of mystery that pulls you into the barn ;) Best to you, alicia (it is cats and dogs here in Seattle as I write - but spring cats and dogs ;))

I thank you so very much for your interest in my photos. You always show such enthusiasm. I love that! I'm so happy that the picture portrays so much warmth and happiness. Your reaction makes it all worth it. I love that you said the mystery pulls you in! I kinda felt the same way, and I DID want to go in, but it was on someone else's property, and us usual, I was trespassing to get the shot. ;) ( the story of my life!)

I hope you didn't get too many 'cats & dogs' today! The sky is filled with stars here tonight, so I think a pretty day is in order for tomorrow! I'm keeping my fingers crossed! I hope it will be pretty for you there as well.

Thanks again for your wonderful visit, and have sweet dreams tonight.

Goodnight,

Mary Alice

This is a beautifully focused shot Mary Alice: the detail in the tree bark and the timber of the barn is brilliantly captured. Very well done.

Have a great week:-)

Greetings again, Happy Paul!

I'm sorry that I somehow missed your previous comment above. You know how it happens sometimes when too may comments come in @ the same time.

Indeed, RosieRR apparently has a great love of all animals! Goats, horses, ducks, cats and dogs! I enjoyed her gallery, and thank you for directing it to my attention.

I hope you are doing well today. We have been having showers and thunder off and on today, and it's rather muggy, but still, it's not a work day! :)

Smiles to you, my friend!

Merry Alicia

For me this is a very relaxing image to look at. Great composition with lots of texture and color. Because it also peaks my curiosity as to "How did this look and what happened here in it's prime?" it captures my interest. Well done Mary Alice.

Tom,

Your very kind words are most appreciated! I would also love to know how this beautiful barn looked in it's day. I have only been riding by it for the last two years, and it's looked pretty much the same through these years. It has been partially hidden, but I finally just broke down, parked on the side of the road, and took a little trip over the fence and through the woods to uncover the full view for myself. Needless to say, I was not disappointed! I'm so happy that you've enjoyed it as well.

Thank you again for your thoughtful praise. I always enjoy your visits.

Good evening to you,

Mary Alice
