This is the largest single drop waterfall in the world. It is in the middle of the rainforest in guyana and can only be reached by small plane. It is the most beautiful place i have ever visited.

I was at the bottom of this majestic fall, all because the river level above and below was at its lowest, never saw above the fall high. From the top, it appeared as if you could step from Rock to Rock. I crept under Johnson view's rock, where there is a huge crack, decended down and came out at the edge: decended a tree and went to a near distance to the river. At the end of this thin, undisturbed trail is Carved on a tree trunk, DG. Scared because I was alone, I hastenedly returned to the top and to the Guest house. Said it to the Team as it was and no one believed. Next day, Sunday, with Tiwari on top of the fall and looking, Bill Hann and myself went thru this path for some distance and then we parallel the gorge's edge, and to the base of this huge pondlike area which is surrounded by large, over 300sq ft and more, rocks. We had lunch on a large rock about the length of a bush truck. This rock was pivoted by a smaller one,off centered with one end projecting in the air. Tiwari, from here appeared to have a matchbox's height. The rocks with a thin film of water, were smoother than glass and more slippery than a greesepole climb. This is so, because of hundreds of thousands of years of pollishing by water. By the way I dropped a Cigarette Lighter under Johnson view rock, finder please return. Untill Gopaul

What an amazing photo! I just met a couple of furniture movers from Guyana today who told me about this fall. Apparently it is the tallest in the world and I had never even heard of it before. You certainly captured it in all its majestic beauty for for the world to see. Thank you.

I was there in Nov 1976, water level was low, but it was still spectacular to stand on the edge of the gorge like in a Tarzan movie, Niagara is nothing remotely like this (too commercialized). Loved it, wish I could go again.
