It was images such as this one that led me to believe you had a 3D camera. Is this an example of lens spacing measured in miles? Was this taken from an airplane?
Tim, yes this image too was taken from my Cross-Atlantic flight between Istanbul and Chicago. And yes, what you see is the 3D perception of the virtual giant named "Volkanzilla" that has about 2-3 miles between his eyes. This is how he would see our world; miniaturized. As you know normally there is no way we could see such distant objects in 3D with our own eyes. I hope I didn't confuse you more. Have a good weekend, Volkan
Very cool. Nope, no confusion. I remember reading about using a "godzilla view" for steroviews, I just never experimented with anything bigger than a shift of a foot or so maximum.
So, I should picture godzilla holding a camera doing the cha cha? LOL
Tim, I am glad that you're now fully ready to do "volkzilla" style "cha cha" X-3D :D Good luck and best wishes, Volkan
Really amazing, I'm mesmerized! Can you believe that the first time I saw one of your 3d aerial landscapes I thought you had done it with images of google earth with the terrain feature on (I did some like that and they look real good)
But beeing made really from the air adds a really 'je nes sais quais' of mystic to the shot
And the "Volkanzilla" concept is genius stuff I think
But you sure have the opportunity to take great shots, are you an airline pilot? please don't tell me you release the plane controls to take the shots :))
with the level of acknowledgment you express for my X-3D art, I feel like a "Nobel Prize" winner. I can not thank you enough for all your comments. But any ways I have to try and here it is; thank you very much. What I have here is indication of what you can do and perhaps you can do much better ones.
I wish I was a pilot or have pilot friends or own something that I can fly with it. For now I have none of that. But I am pleased to inform you that almost all my aerial shots were taken during my travel related flights, as much as weather allows I take hundreds of pictures. There were many times pilots helped me by slightly changing flight route so that I could take certain pictures during commercial flights. Some of what you see here are results of such cooperations with very kind pilots. With my best wishes, Volkan
Wow! deviating planes to take shots? are you a big shot diplomat or something? (just retorical, don't need answer) :)
